I'm a high school applicant

All new applicants wishing to apply for admissions into our LPN program must submit a high school diploma or GED.

Application Process

  • Information Session.  This session is required for all new applicants wanting to receive information about our school or program.  It's a one hour session covering topics including financial aid, admissions requirements, pre-requisite, student financial aid, etc.
  • Application Form. When you're ready to take the next step after attending the information session, fill out an application form available at the front desk, or you can choose to fill out the form online.  Note there is an application fee of $50.
  • C.N.A Training. Completing a nursing assistant training program and passing the state (IDPH) exam to become a certified nursing assistant is one of the requirments for the LPN program.  You can enroll in the C.N.A training program at a community college near you or at Americare Institute.
  • Student Financial Aid. Need money for college?  Americare Institute participates in TITLE IV.  Fill out a free financial aid application online.
  • Entrance Exam.  All applicants must demonstrate their academic readiness by taking our entrance exam.  The exam consists of english, math, science, and reading.  To enter into the program, you must achieve an average score of 60% or better.
  • Pre-requisite Courses.  Applicants are also required to take and earn at least a grade of "C" or better on the following general education courses:
    • Math (College Algebra), Introduction to Psychology, English 101, Introduction to Computer
