
Located in Hanover Park and Schaumburg, Americare Institute is a Private Vocational School operating under the authority of the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). We are an organization that specializes in providing affordable, quality nursing education in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certificate Program is approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and our Practical Nursing Program is approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
The Practical Nursing Program prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide practical nursing care to children and adults with common health care problems. The practical nurse participates in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care of clients and practices under the supervision of a registered nurse, physician, podiatrist, of dentist. Graduates of the program receive a Certificate of Completion as well as a Pharmacology Certificate; and are eligible to apply to take the NCLEX-PN and seek licensure as Licensed Practical Nurses. Graduates are prepared to assume entry-level practical nursing positions in acute care, long-term care, and ambulatory care settings.

| 2. | Insists on an instructional staff that is qualified, certified as applicable, and has employment experience in the areas in which they teach; |
| 3. | Provides the tools and equipment needed to put theory into practice; |
| 4. | References the course goals and course objectives to conform to industry standards, requirements, and assessments whenever applicable; |
| 5. | Structures its courses and programs such that they may be counted as two-year/four-year program transfer credits by colleges and universities accepting transfer credits; |
| 6. | Offers flexible schedules to accommodate working students; |
