Q. What are the requirements to get into your LPN program?
A. You must show proof of your High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma), have a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certificate, and no criminal record before starting the pre-requisite program. You must also be emotionally and physically healthy in order to maintain attendance, grades, nursing clinical, and other class-related work.

Q. What documents are required before enrolling at Americare?
A. You must provide a current ID (driver's license) and social security card. You must also meet all eligibility requirements.

Q. How do I receive more information?
A. You must attend a LPN informational session and complete a school application. Schedule an appointment with an admissions consultant at 847-397-0300.

Q. What is the placement exam?
A. The placement exam is a basic skills test that assesses your readiness for the pre-requisite courses. It is a timed test that measures your knowledge in areas such as reading, language, and math. You must take and pass each section at a 75% or better before enrolling in classes.

Q. Do you accept transfer credits?
A. Yes. You may submit your official transcript for review at our Schaumburg location. It generally takes about a week to process and review your transcript. Our Student Services Coordinator will contact you for consultation about what courses transfer. Please submit your transcripts to:

Q. Are you required to take the placement exam if you have transfer credits?
A. No. Please submit your transcript for review in order to exempt from the placement exam.

Q. What if you are not a CNA?
A.You must have your CNA certificate before beginning our pre-requisite courses. We currently offer CNA courses in our Hanover Park location. Students are welcome to enroll in our CNA AND pre-requisite classes simultaneously.
