Is Americare approved and accredited?
Americare is approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, a state agency that oversees all nursing programs in Illinois (see list of approved nursing programs in Illinois) and the Illinois State Board of Education (see list of approved ISBE schools) to offer a Practical Nursing Program (LPN). Americare is also one of the few private schools that received full accreditation by the North Central Association Commission Accreditation on School Improvement (see NCA CASI accredited schools in Illinois).

Types of North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) Accreditation

1. Commission and Accreditation and School Improvement (CASI)
CASI accredits elementary and secondary schools as well as non-degree-granting postsecondary schools. Americare is accredited by this commission because we are a non-degree postsecondary school.

2. Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
HLC accredits degree-granting colleges and universities. Community colleges such as College of Dupage, Elgin Community College, Harper College are accredited by this commission.
